Manchester based Ministry of Upholstery is the UKs leading Modern Upholstery School and we at My Vibrant Home are proud to be verified providers of their 'classic upholstered footstool course'and now this new 'upholstered contemporary stool course'. Course tutor, Kim, is fully trained and endorsed by the Ministry of Upholstery.

So why not try your hand at something new and get creative in this one day course, in which we combine upholstery and painting techniques.

You will start the day with a solid hardwood frame, specially made in the Ministry of Upholstery's frame workshop and will follow step by step guidance from Kim, learning about the tools and materials used, as well as covering lots of techniques from webbing and wadding, cutting fabric, boxing and piping.

You will also be introduced to Chalk Paint®, decorative paint by Annie Sloan and basic painting techniques and be able to choose a coordinating colour to paint your stool legs. At the end of the day’s course you will be able to take your stool home to show off your new found skills!

The course includes everything you need to make your footstool; you just need to supply one metre of suitable fabric.

Refreshments and lunch is provided.
